They've been playing outside for awhile so I go out to check on them.

Daughter has a hand full of cash.

They picked flowers out of our flowerbeds and went & sold them to neighbors.

That's the FUNNIEST thing I've read all day.

AND the CUTEST! I can just imagine the sweetest two 6 y/olds knocking on your neighbor's doors holding out a fistful of flowers that they picked THEMSELVES. All while the 9 y/o stands back waiting to collect.

Haha I wouldn't even be mad. That's some really admirable initiative for a 6 year old. After I stopped laughing, I'd have her help me plant more flowers. Maybe suggest she invest some of her earnings into making her own flowerbed just to grow stuff to sell.

I would support them in learning, but teach them that they can't take other people's things. Then I would go buy new plants for yourself and some for them, have them help you plant everything, send them teach them hours to tend their stuff. When everything blooms, guide them on what to do to sell the flowers... such as take some pics, show the neighbors, and take orders.

I wouldn't punish them on the first
go-round.

Weird accusation.

They had earlier asked if they could do a snack stand (we let them sell chips, gatorades, snacks, etc from time to time lemonade stand style). I told them no, not today. So they pivoted (without asking).

While somewhat horrified that they'd ridden their bikes up and down the street basically begging to our neighbors, I wasn't mad. Told them don't do that again without asking first.
