We need to move away from the Collie breed. In addition to being fugly, every single reveille that I can remember has had health problems or aggression issues

They're just fine. The wife and I have been working with collies for 25 years. They're really not any more problematic than any other breed. Everyone pretty much just wants their personal favorite kind of dog to be the mascot, which is understandable.

1) If I were an official Aggie, and 2) if I were an official Aggie who discovered a huge oil and gas field in west Texas, I'd help out with a billion or so if the mascot could be changed to a 3) Pekingese. They're small but they'll fight anything.

Otherwise about half that would be all I could go.

So long as E-2 is still taking care of the dog full time I'm glad to keep the collie or whatever they like. If they ever stop, then the mascot should be a three-legged mutt.

I like German Shepherds and Labs, Beagles, Goldens and GSP's are cool too but Collies are beautiful dogs by most folks taste. The problem is not the breed in regards to health. It's becoming that way on lots of highly bred dogs. Constant over breeding is creating these health problems with many breeds.

I can attest to this as I did a lot of research after our doberman died suddenly with no warning at all after barely turning 5. DCM is very common in this breed but wasn't as common a long time ago.
