It has to hurt so bad to kick the ball in that weather, then again they probably can't feel their feet. There's legitimate frostbite risk to stomping around in the snow in those shoes. /debbiedowner

We played a game in wet sleet against Strake Jesuit in 1988 when I was in high school. With a coach who wouldn't let us wear long sleeves or leggings past the knee.

I didn't know Jimbo coached at Strake.

Our coach was a crotchety old guy who used to teach government and history at DoD schools all over the world during the heart of the cold war. He had a lot of strong opinions, that being one of them. But he was a good coach and we were 21-0 my senior year.
