The Brenham-based ice cream favorite just released a brand-new flavor called Brookie La Mode, and yes, it's exactly what it sounds like.

Think brownie. Think chocolate chip cookie. Now add ice cream.

The base is brown sugar flavored ice cream. It's the same thing they use for the Pecan Pie ice cream back in the fall, and that may be the best ice cream flavor i've ever had.

Honestly, we prefer Creamy Creations to BB in most cases.

It sounds good and I'm sure we will try it. But why use brown sugar ice cream and not homemade vanilla? If you order this at a restaurant, you'll get brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

I haven't had it, but one would assume the brown sugar ice cream is meant to mimic to cookie part of the concoction.

So think cookies and cream, but the cookies are brownies and the cream is the brown sugar ice cream.

They probably could have saved a step and used cookie dough ice cream with brownie chunks and called it a day.

Bought a half gallon this weekend. It's fine and will cure a sweet tooth craving, but very MEH overall. My kids will finish the carton. I won't be buying it again.

Once upon a time it was pretty damn good, but the last 20-30 years have not been great. The negligence of the listeria problem should have shut it down. I am still not sure how they survived that.
