Found this today in the planter box at BSBE. It's a nice tribute to Bisbee. He was a good kitty and I always enjoyed our visits when I happened upon him laying in his planter box.

He got a lot of love from the students.

I don't really like cats the way many people do. It's probably because I went to an animal shelter once and a cat killed my dad.

Fitting tribute to the human - animal bond and the impact pets (even feral) can have on students when away from home. The picture of Bisbee shows the 'tipped' ear typical of AFCAT processed (tested, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, etc) cats returned to the campus.

I have a scar on my left hand from such a cat I had as a patient when I was a senior vet student. Some weren't as nice as Bisbee.

Lots of students commented on Reddit after his passing about how much they looked forward to seeing Bisbee since they were away from their own pets at home.

I loved seeing him chilling and hanging out on my way past BSBE. He was a fixture and a part of my time at A&M like the Chicken and going to games.

I tried multiple times to run after and catch the stray cats around campus. Never caught one though. Don't know why they were so skittish. I mean, The **** you want to be homeless for? Get in my truck and let me take you to my house to be loved forever already! Had to go adopt a couple instead.

Could someone tell the story about this cat to us olds? From what I've gathered, he was a feral cat that hung around the BSBE building and he no longer is amongst the living. what time frame? Did anyone take care of him or did he forage for himself? And how did he die?

Yes, the planters around BSBE were my 'hood. I was very sociable and friendly, when I wanted to be.
