Or are they relaunching ESPN3?

Can't watch mainstream ESPN networks on ESPN+ unless you have it through a TV provider. This new DTC service will give you access to all the mainstream ESPN channels in addition to the ESPN+ content if you don't have cable.

Didn't renew my cable contract back in May so this is enticing enough for me to look into it, especially with the NFL network acquisition as well.

Basically relaunching ESPN3 but instead of requiring a cable subscription to use, you can watch for $29.99 per month. ESPN+ will still remain a separate subscription that will contain the sports events that aren't on the main channels. What I'm not sure of is will you be able to access the WWE PLE if you have a channel package that has ESPN or will you be forced to sign up for this new streaming app called "ESPN."

So if I have YTTV, I'll have access? But I am also expecting another YTTV price hike to carry this.

To add on to this and add more clarification, ESPN has just stated that DirecTV, Charter Communications, Hulu + LiveTV, FuboTV and Verizon Fios will supply the PPVs at no additional costs. If you have anything else, you have to pay $30 for the new streaming service.
