Alright folks I need some feedback.

Theres nothing set in stone, But illd like to see how many folks would be willing to commit to participating in a bonfire band. Ive got to come up with enough interest to go to the greys and warrant this being taken into consideration (already spoken to one.....This is absolutley not a official call....just the first steps towards getting permission to get one).

Please understand that im not a representative of SBA with this.....im sending out some feelers to get a response. I beleive that if enough old BQ's(and the non-regs ) will muster there support, the greys will go ahead and give there blessing to do it. Im going to cross link this into the football forum, and illd realy apreciate it if someone with a premium account can cross link it into the ags only forum as i dont have access.

Lets take the first steps towards bringing back a tradition as old and proud as bonfire itself.

Use search, and make contact with the poster tha almost pulled it off for this year.

I know jeff(in fact i emailed him yesterday) I was one of the ones he nearly pulled it off wiht(in fact......you can thank my alarm clock for a lack of drums......grrrrrrg.....)

And the layout needs a lot of work.

The layout came from a website I spent about ten minutes building on a site builder from 50megs.com. Jim ported it over and ive only had a chance to work on it once. I'm trying, cut me a lttle slack....this has been kind of a one man show up until now.


BTW I ran that through a spellcheck....I mispelled three words. Not bad considering the amount of time I put intoit. It was only supposed to be temporary when it was at my 50megs address, and what is there now is the same way.

If you're just going to go with a plain text message explaining what you are trying to do (and really, that's all you need), then I would suggest getting rid of the background all together and just doing black text on white. Some words get lost in the gray/black background. Also, kick your font size up some.

I corrected the webpage for you... just FYI

It's a good idea to have someone else proofread your work before you put it on line. If you're like me, you can probably see the smallest nitpicking mistake in someone else's writing but are blind to errors you make. It's just the way the mind works.

Nice effort. I look forward to seeing a band at next year's Bonfire.

▪A logo- I'm looking for someone to make a logo for us. Email me if you good with Photoshop.

That looks better than yesterday, but let me mention a few more things.

On my monitor that background looks burnt orange. ;P

Blue text on backgrounds with red in them plays tricks with your eyes and makes things hard to read. Just as putting red and blue text next to each other does. I still suggest just using a white or light gray back ground and black text. You're targeting old guys, you want them to be able to read it.

I don't know if anyone would want to do it, but you might be able to make a deal with a local HS band. They might be willing to donate instruments and/or bodies to play the instruments. Obviously a band made up of Aggies would be best, but if it came down to a HS band or no band, I'd go with HS. (Plus you might get more attendance from HS students and their families.)

Thats actualy a possibility thats been discussed.

WE'll have to hold off on that till closer to time, but it may come to asking the LHS to help

I'm very rusty with Illustrator, but I might beable to help with a logo. At least a simple logo for the site...

I'll see if I can do something, but it won't be quick as I am swamped at work.

(P.S. Use Illustrator for logos. Vector is better than Raster for that sort of thing!)

Jim, is there some way of getting in touch with aggies clubs around texas? im kind of coming to a point were ive exhausted my quick leads(although my roommates buddy in the band is supposed to be helping me with more names), and am trying to find a way to spread the word a little more.

When you contact these people, you'll receive quite a few questions about Student Bonfire. Be sure you're on the same wavelength with the leadership before you make public statements.

Also, overcome your keyboard problems when you write. Grammatically correct, succinct correspondence gives the impression of a well-disciplined organization. Spelling errors and careless prose smack of indiscipline, which reflects on the organization.

Somebody will make the connection between your professionalism in the communications process and the attention to detail (i.e., safety) that goes on in building stack.
