will aston actualy turn a crew out this year? or was the dude at yell last week wearing a pot and carrying a handle clueless?

There's a few guys from aston that are wanting to put a crew together. I've talked to a couple of them and from what I can tell, they're fairly serious about it.

cool. I had heard rumors last year of a guy in aston that made a handle and pot, but wasnt even coming to bonfire(granted i didnt make it often). thats like CT's wqho dont come making pots....it makes me angry.

Ya...there were several people from aston who cut with FHK this year...in fact I think one of them will be a cheif for FHK...It would be nice to see those people put some effort into Aston or other Southside dorms...it will be hard for the first year or two...but if it wasn't hard anyone would do it...right?

Cmon too tall, you should know better. There were a couple of Appelt guys that cut with us, one is now my roomate and my son.

They were good friends in highschool with a bunch of FHKers.

TooTall, those were Appelt guys and yes, one is a chief next year.

On another note, I have heard one person from Aston talk about bonfire for next year and it sounds WAY short of a full crew but we will see. PLUS Aston is going Co-Ed soon so again, we shall see what all goes down.

Haha...C'mon guys...I know exactly who cut with FHK from Appelt...give me more credit than that...To me it seems like everyone is not giving Appelt a chance to get started...if ya go into it with a defeatist attitude...nothin is ever going to get started.

Pots are not made JUST for Bonfire... in many cases its part of our uniform..

those pots were my point. The ones used in uniform that i have seen are always polished black...

Actually, I still live in Appelt and every so often try to talk up Bonfire around the dorm. There really doesn't seem to be that much intrest at all, I mean most of the guys I have talked to have just kinda said thats neat or whatever and thats been the end of it. I mean, I have offered for people to come past my room to tell them more about Bonfire, it's history and what all we do and so far only one person has ever taken me up on it.

Thats the kinda stuff that brings on the "defeatist attitude"...

If you want to know history about bonfire as a whole or specifically to your dorm. You should go to Cushings and ask for the bonfire archives and your dorm archives. They have all articles dealing with both topics. This is an assignment that is given to "new boys" in my dorm every year. Another place is to talk to old bonfire people. When you become the expert then others will follow.

Appelt alwys turned up 5 or 6 guys for cut and atlest 3 for the cookie shack.

BTW, i want ASTON aqnd everyone tied with it not tothink thats a knock on aston. Not an insult, i was curious.(im also drunk...)
