Hmm....the Batt reporting on news and, as always, reports things just a tad off here and there.

I wouldn't put it past James to say those exact words, but this the shining example of why we need a dedicated PR person...

It sucks that the only time Bonfire makes the papers is when there is a problem and burn night.

I like the overall tone actually. They are treating it as Bonfire and not just a bonfire.

Well, rather Sims does. The Batt still doesn't they didn't capitalize Bonfire in Student Bonfire. Even if you don't think SB is the Bonfire, it is still our name.

If you want to be taken seriously please capitalize proper nouns.

if you read the part where it talks about what james says, they did not put quotes around that part. the part where they used quotes he says come out to first cut.

Suspect, carefully quoted, agenda-laden articles?! In The Battalion!? No damn way!

Tell me if you read it differently, but I see a change in Sims's approach in the Battalion article vis-a-vis the earlier KBTX interview. In the former, he says it's basically over. Now, in the Batt interview, he seems to be warning that the 45-day marker is the new standard.

is it bad that about a year ago I just started assuming that neither KBTX, nor the Battalion have any clue what they are talking about?

Has anyone ever contacted the speedway out on hwy.6,seems they could use the business of a large gathering . They could set up to burn on the infield,get huge concessions,they are already permitted for large gatherings,and are probably set up to control fires.Get alums to pay insurance policy.The speedway gets concessions and paid parking.Just a thought.

Looked into many times but they won't do it.
