everyone who works on the Bonfire is a hard working, caring person. I've just returned from working at Animal Rescue New Orleans--one of the rescue organizations still working to keep the animals alive along the Gulf Coast. Those animals that survived the hurricane are in dire need of food, water, and spay/neuter services. This organization supports 4,000 feeding stations in the still-abandoned areas of the city, but they need help very badly. If you have any spare time, please consider volunteering. Monetary donations are gratefully accepted. The cat food used by the feeders manning the 9th Ward feeding stations is running out.
