I haven't attended any bonfire since '98 so forgive me if there is some sort of band or yell leaders at the off-campus version already.

From what I understand, the University doesn't endorse the off-campus bonfire in any way, right? So, maybe some bq's and yell leaders would be interested in attending and participating their first dead year?

Just a thought. Seems like a way to add "fuel to the fire".

p.s. If I didn't live in Washington state I would attend.

One more thing...

I think using former students for the band and yell would be a good way to honor the former student that was helping build in '99.

From what I understand, the Association of Former Yell Leaders doesn't want any of their members show up for Student Bonfire in anything resembling an official capacity.

The dead zip yell boys made an appearance in 2004, and apparently they caught a LOT of flack for it.

The band idea has been floated as well, but the problem, as explained to me, was a shortage of instruments.

the problem is not a shortage of instruments, its a lack of ANY one responding in force(a few did but not many)

Ive been saying it for a year and have had almost NO ONE talk to me. I have contacts to get horns, im a drummer, have some names already down for participation etc. etc.. Hell ive got contactswith the green and redpots, as well as with the board members etc.
