The man who's helped convert thousands to Jesus after living a young life of alcohol, drugs, and adultery has passed away at 79. Lord only knows how many people he's converted…but I'm one of them.

So I wanted to share their story here. Feels like the right thing to do.

Don't get it wrong, he didn't convert them; Jesus did. But certainly Phil offered himself to Jesus as a vessel and that's what we are called to do.

ETA: Surely he has already heard, "Well done, my good and faithful servant!"

Never had a chance to meet Phil. But as said before, he introduced a lot of people to Jesus. Admired his passion for Jesus and his faith. Reckon I'll get a chance to say thank you one day.

I didn't know about the drugs, booze and adultery stuff, I'm glad he repented. God rest his soul, he was a colorful character and unabashedly American
