It will be at your weakest ...
It will be the devil's last chance to drag you to hell..
It will be a time of struggle...

But if you knew and loved Jesus in this life, and obeyed Him to the best of your ability, forgiving your enemies, etc., you will win, and the devil won't succeed...

The key thing is knowing the Lord. He promises to be with us always, even at our death. Believe and trust Him.

And if you are a Christian, it is actually your life bed.

Can you define "knowing the Lord" a little more?

The feeling of the Holy Spirit inside you which is in all believers. Causes effortless production of the fruits of the Spirit. Peace, patience, love, joy, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, and self control.

I would define it as knowing Jesus, loving Jesus, obeying Jesus, serving Jesus as best as you could while you could. And loving your neighbor as yourself....

When I first moved from MN to the Pensacola area, our church here had an elderly man who was dying. One of the first things I got invited to was the church having an impromptu singing of hymns to him on his hospice bad at his window. Around 100 people from church were there singing. Among those we sang were Crown Him with Many Crowns, It is Well with my Soul, Blessed Assurance, In The Garden, and Holy Holy Holy.

I saw a dying man, unable to speak, beam with a smile and a light of glory like I have never seen since. He died about 12 hours later.

If the Lord would allow it..... it's how I want to go out.

And when my body lies in the ruins of the lies that nearly ruined me
Will you pick up the pieces that were pure and true
And breathe life into them and set them free?
And when You start this world over again from scratch
Will You make me anew out of the stuff that lasts?
Stuff that's purer than gold is and clearer than glass could ever be.

I think the key thing is LOVING the Lord. I know you, of all people here, will agree. There is a distinct difference though.

On poems about dying, I can't listen to this without tears welling up in my eyes. It probably is hitting me harder these days as my dad is in hospice care. I envision him the same conversation as he walks through Heavens gates.

"He said, 'This is eternity,
and all I promised you.
Today your life on Earth has past,
but here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
but today will always last.
And since each day is the same,
there is no longing for the past.
you have been so faithful,
so trusting and so true.
Even though you did some things,
you know you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven,
and at last you are now free.
So won't you come and take my hand,
and share your life with Me?'"

Agree. I truly do not see how one could know the Lord and not love Him. But it happens far too often.

Yes. I fear many know his words and commands but don't really follow them. They know about Him and of Him and even believe in Him, but their actions don't align with truly Loving Him. Think of the fallen angels. I'm not their judge but I suspect many will be confused on that final judgement day when He sorts them to the left with the 'goats' and says "I never knew you".

Loving the Lord is all that matters.

While I don't work in a hospital the people I've seen die have not exhibited either of these behaviors when they passed or leading up to it. This meme seems like completely dishonest grift.

Of course it is. Anyone who actually works in a hospital and sees people die on a regular basis recognizes that most people who are dying are stuporous to comatose. They are not talking to/seeing angels, Jesus, Grandpa, demons, or Johnny Carson--at least not in any way that we among the living could recognize.

Actually, maybe they are, at least according to themselves. Perception is reality. What are your thoughts on good working hypotheses that note the release of DMT when you die, which explains all the stuff people think they see. I personally believe it's nothing more than the body involuntarily easing the body and brain from life to death.

I know if the devil shows up when I'm dying I'm going to be pretty pissed. That mf-er had my whole life to do something but he's doubling down when I'm dying? I don't think so. I think We've spent a little time together, he should know better.
