It's one of those books that id you read and discuss you will immediately be labeled as a white supremacist by the powers that be, so maybe not many people may have read it here or are willing to discuss. Just take a look at the wiki entry if you want any indication of what the media and left thinks of the book.

It was released in 1973! in France by author Jean Respail and translated to English a few years later and is the story of an armada of people setting sail from the third world to Europe and the drivers of it and the reaction of the western world. There are other facets to the third world setting their sights on the Western world, but I'm only about a third of the way through it. I am blown away that it was written that long ago. It reads like it was written in the last 10 years. The term antiracist is used a lot and I didn't realize that term had its roots that far back and I thought it was a much newer phenomenon due to critical theorists.

After glancing at the wiki for that book, no I don't think it is anything like that.

Just read a summary. Interesting premise, very relatable to what's going on today. Apparently it's banned in France

I think it's a little hysterical in that the book has literal hordes of migrants invading like zombies out of world war z.

I think Europe will suffer from this worse than what America ever will

Idk if that is the same link I used because I didn't click it but I found a scanned copy of the English version instead of just text I would be happy to post.

I mean, can anyone seriously read the plot on Wiki and not see that the EXACT same scenario is playing out in the West?

Here's what the $PLC says:

Quote:

In 2001, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) described The Camp of the Saints as "widely revered by American white supremacists" and "a sort of anti-immigration analog to The Turner Diaries", and attributed its popularity to the plot's parallels with the white genocide replacement theory.

Yea the turner diaries is an actual far right neo nazi propaganda. I don't know much about the booo in the op but it's not even in the same league as the turner diaries

My mind is blown that this was written over 50 years ago. The beast in this paragraph refers to the powers that be that are pushing the west towards the ends they want.

I posted the same question here about 5years ago.

The reception was somewhat different. More folks calling it an extreme fiction. No one thinks so anymore

If SPLC hates it, it must be good

Ah, so like some of my 400 Level Engineering books at A&M 35 years ago.

Let me see if I can find it around. Or I'll have to meet up with you and borrow it sometime.

Challenge accepted.

I watched V for Vendetta but I'm pretty sure it was on an airplane back during my flying around Asia all the time era which is now 5-15 years ago. So it's probably worth a re-watch on a bigger screen.

Just looked it up. 2006 release that did $134M against a $54M budget.
