Agree, but regardless whether he gets a sentence of 99 years he will still be eligible for parole after 30 years, but if they do something stupid and give him 50 years, he could be out in 25. That's why I am hoping for a minimum of 60.

In Texas you are eligible for parole after 30 years even if you have a max sentence of 99y in this case.

If I'm not mistaken, for violent felonies Texas parole eligibility is half time. So for example if he gets sentenced to 30 he'll be eligible for parole after 15. There may be a way to reduce that even further through education, but I'm not sure.

I've been watching recaps of the questioning, reading some of the transcripts. It makes me question the judgement of the defense team for allowing this go anywhere near a trial. Their best witness even testified that Karmelo was the instigator and was in the wrong.

It also puts in perspective what a sad state our youth are in. He really believes if he went into the tent, provoked a response, and killed someone it would be called self-defense.

He'll have fun time in prison. He's 5'7" 135 lbs.

Court TV - Reporter trying to incite riots to get less years in sentence, then saying the white people outside the courtroom shouldn't be there and are just there to incite things.

I would call it a medium sized knife. Small would be your typical old timer or buck knife that is 1.5 to 2 inches with a fairly thin blade. I would call a large knife in the 4-5 inch range and usually not a folder. I carry a 3 inch blade because it is a good middle ground

I don't believe he is really 5'7" nor only 135, but if he does weigh that little amount, he went on a major crash diet after his arrest to try to look smaller in an effort to sway the jury that he really had a reason to fear for his life against big bad 6'7" 275 pound Austin Metcalf

Edit to add that at his arrest, he was 5'9" and 157.

his parents were too busy milking the cash cow. Plead and the crowdfunding stops. At one point or another, the defendant started to love the smell of his own (and da culcha's) farts. He probably would have gotten something like 20-25 if he pled out.
