I know this thread is about the House...
But this is my point about Rand over in the Senate. When he's so stuck in his own self righteous superiority he often breaks ranks with the Republicans because he doesn't like this or that in a bill. The result, a "NO" vote on the greater Republican/MAGA agenda, is a vote for the Dems agenda.
Rand has never killed legislation that mattered but he has helped to make some legislation more conservative that otherwise wouldn't have been. Guys like him actually look into these bills and point out the insanity, kind of like how Massie or Roy get blasted but they are the ones that were pointing out the perils of the Covid bills when everyone else was just going along or they point out the red flags on gun control legislation. They understand how the game is played by the Dems and that the devil is in the details. Did I like Paul going on 60 minutes to talk about ICE? Hell no, completely disagreed with him. Still at least his problem is having principles.
What has been disastrous is the RINOs like Murkowski that are actually just Democrats that hate conservative principles but do just enough to get re-elected and cut deals with leadership to vote on things that should be no brainers for any conservative but in exchange they get help to get re-elected. Folks like Thune that would actually be happier being Minority Leader where he would have all the trappings of the nice offices and lifestyle but wouldn't actually have any pressure to do anything other than to be a roadblock on occasion.
Yet they do a great job convincing many conservatives to attack conservatives instead of actually going after the real problem of these RINOs that spend 30 plus years in DC and Chair the committees and dominate leadership.
