Wylie East high school did a number and let Why Islam representatives into the school to hand out Qurans, pamphlets for Sharia law, and let females try on hijabs. None of this was reviewed, permitted, and the district is trying to cover up everything. The Why Islam people posted pictures of the girls that tried on all over the internet and are fighting taking the pictures down after cease and desist letters.

It is a big deal but it is not the first time, last year the principal/the school posted the be below picture. For those that don't know Wylie is in Collin county which has one of the fastest growing Muslim populations in the USA and where one of the Epic cities is planned. While it is one of the most affluent counties in Texas it certainly has major issues.

Wylie East screw up

Quote:

"During the lunch period, four women representing the organization Why Islam were present on campus. We reviewed security footage fewer than 50 students visited their table. Most students appeared to take a piece of candy, approximately four students received Henna designs, and about a dozen tried on a scarf or hijab. The table also included informational pamphlets and copies of the Quran. A few students voluntarily picked up materials, and the representatives provided Why Islam-branded bags for those who accepted the items…
"The organization did not have permission to distribute any materials on campus. Outside organizations are not permitted to distribute materials to students without prior approval from campus and district administration. Guests may speak only with official student clubs with prior approval and may address only students who have signed parent permission forms on file. In this case, the organization did not have permission to distribute materials, did not receive approval to speak with students outside of the club, and the club did not submit the required guest speaker request form.
"This situation is not about religion, politics, ideology, or any personal belief system. It is about a procedural breakdown. Mistakes were made, and we take full responsibility. We are actively addressing the lapses and reviewing our internal procedures and staff oversight related to student clubs and guest approvals to ensure incidents like this do not happen again."

To be truly representative, they should have done the elementary school - or the FFA barn.

Slightly off topic, but I'll never understand how leftist white women can proudly put on a hijab and be all smiles for a pic like that. Daring women in places like Iran remove them as a protest against Muslim oppression of women. Virtue signaling at it's worst.

This is nothing. With the 10 Commandments up in classrooms it's only a matter of time before there is a challenge and the Five Pillars of Islam and/or the Shahada are up in classrooms as well.

I can tell you from experience that this community is run mainly by the Baptist church and their politics. I am curious if any of these folks will get run out of town on a rail for this "procedural breakdown."

But it happened again, this year?

They keep letting it happen "by accident" until it becomes normal, so they will keep doing it.

I think any group of adults that tries to peddle their beliefs to a bunch of children or teenagers in an environment separated from their parents is inherently trying to take advantage of them. That goes for religious groups of ANY denomination as well as non-religious groups. All of these should be forbidden IMO.

Today, they will "invite" people and playfully cajole you to wear a burka.

Tomorrow, they will angrily demand that you wear the burka and threaten to kill you if you don't.

Lesson of history. If you choose to ignore it, it is at your own peril.

This is a fatal flaw in Western (white) people, Petrified of being labelled as racists so put up with any kind of bs that non-whites throw.

Wylie East staffer placed on leave after unapproved Why Islam visit, superintendent says
https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/wylie-east-staffer-leave-unapproved-why-islam-visit/

A Wylie East High School staff member has been placed on leave for allowing Why Islam representatives to set up an unapproved table displaying religious materials during lunch a violation of policy, the district said Wednesday.
In correspondence with families, Wylie ISD Superintendent Kim Spicer said women from Why Islam were on campus to meet with the Muslim Student Association for World Hijab Day, displaying scarves, candy, branded bags, and religious literature that she said had not been reviewed or permitted.
Fewer than 50 students stopped by the table, according to Spicer. Fewer than 10 took pamphlets or Qurans.

Islam in its current unreformed state is a toxin.

Set up a booth across from these Why Islam people showing the atrocities done this very moment in the name of Islam...The way they treat women and nonbelievers...Christianity stopped its' medieval ways long time ago. It's Islam's turn now.

When you say... "this community" what exactly are you talking about?

There is a mosque on 14th, between Los Rios and Plano, FM544. That is Plano... EPIC... East Plano Islamic Center sits there. If you've been to either the Kroger on Los Rios or Wal*Mart on FM544, you will notice a significant number of people wearing a variety of Islamic type garb. Hijabs. Thawb. Dishdashah.

A Baptist Church may have had influence 20... 30 years ago in small town Wylie/Murphy... I'm not so sure that is the case today.

Personally, I think young ladies trying on a hijab is likely them naively looking to accessorize is a fashionable way, without really considering where that will lead them.

Wylie and its school district are very heavily influence by FBC Wylie as evidenced by the prominent members of their schools, boards and city that all attend that church. East Plano and Wylie are not the same place. There may be some cross over, but Wylie is not Plano. I've lived there for 15 years, have seen the changes from small town to busy small city, and recognize that you will now see some people who don't look like you walking down the street.

My post was about whether the influence of FBC in Wylie (read, not East Plano) will be enough for some of these folks in charge to be, at the very least, non renewed.

The board president is literally on staff at the Cross Church (formerly FBC Wylie)

Typical liberal white person:

but but but my friend Hussain Akhmed brought me some delicious kabobs for Ramadan that his wife made, and my Pakistani neighbor Mohammad came by and brought me lamb biriyani, oooh it was out of this world! Muslims are such nice people, their kids play with my kids... and you know even invited us all to the mosque for a free dinner and we get to immerse ourselves in their culture.
Such nice people. We should welcome immigrants like these to America.

I live in Lucas, which borders parts of Wylie. My niece and nephew attend school in Wylie ISD. Most people not familiar with the area would be surprised by how diverse that school district is. Lots of students who are Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, etc. My brother in law told me that both of the district's two high schools have an hour long lunch period and allow off campus lunch for juniors and seniors. The group apparently set up outside the building to celebrate National Hijab Day. The high schools have school clubs that meet during lunch time. BIL said every time he's been at the HS at lunch time that there are dozens of tables set up with different student clubs meeting, passing out flyers, etc. My nephew belongs to the Fellowship of Christian Students my niece was in the Jesus/Bible club at school a few years ago. My nephew said there are also clubs for students of other faiths like Muslim, Desi, Buddhist, etc. And there is a multicultural student club. The school district has VERY close ties to the big Baptist church downtown. Church leaders have had a hand in selecting many of the current and past leaders at the district admin building and school principals at schools in the district. The church isn't going to allow any crazy stuff to go on in Wylie ISD. The Muslim kids who go to these schools are children of engineers, dentists, doctors, cpa's, etc. Not radicals from Saudi Arabia or members of Hamas. My sister and BIL love that their kids have friends who are Muslim, Hindu, and Buddhist because they are good kids who are excellent students, kind, respectful, aren't out getting drunk on the weekends, and aren't having premarital sex.

The group was not outside the school. They were in the school. The district has strict policies against what was being handed out (regardless of faith). There are not routine numbers of tables. They have specific days where approved clubs may advertise their existence and allow students to learn more about their clubs. Clubs inviting guests hold the meeting in a separate room and parents are sent permission slips for their student to attend.

Wylie is very diverse but we absolutely have a radical sect of Muslims in our community from Pakistan and Palestine. They ran for the city council and had very strong opinions on Israel's existence. Some stated that they needed to control local to then control state to then control national so they can welcome Islam across America as the new law. Another stated that only when everyone lives under Sharia Law will peace and prosperity truly be possible. They obviously tried to delete these posts once running or made the statements on camera in the mosque...but they got out. Don't get confused that professionals or people with money cannot have radical views (we see that with Democrats and Republicans).

As to FBC - they used to have a lot of power. They have zero people on them city council and only a couple on the school board. That much has changed a lot in the city.

So....passing out Bibles and showcasing Christianity....bad. Keeping Christian prayer out of school and discouraging Christian holidays and symbols of Christianity away from school....good.... But....hand out Qurans and pushing Islam in a school and encouraging wearing Islamic garments....that's okay? I agree.....where's the ACLU?

Back in the 1990's, leftists were at least consistent about being secularists, feminists, and sexual revolutionaries.

Now they defend Muslims whose culture is far more "patriarchal" and "homophobic" than the Evangelical Christians they've always hated. An obvious "the enemy of my enemy" mentality inspired by 9/11.

Such a repressive religion, especially against women and these people are happy about it. I have a feeling if many of these people went to the actual Middle East. They would feel much differently. Here some get to choose what they want to do and not do.

That is so messed up.
