The AI era already feels like a dystopian fever dream straight out of a bad sci-fi novel, but leave it to a software engineer to push the accelerator straight into the abyss. Enter Alexander Liteplo, the software developer behind RentAHuman.ai, a freshly launched platform that lets autonomous AI agents "search, book, and pay" actual human beings to perform physical-world tasks they can't handle themselves, Futurism reports.

Just when you think the world can't get any weirder...... Humanity is going to need a full on Butlerian Jihad to fix these mistakes when all is said and done.

This is no different than any of the other gig type jobs. It's not the AI doing the hiring, it basically posts the job as available when instructed to.

Battlestar Galactica

a story about how the robots were built by humans

then took over, fought a war, then launched a surprise nuclear strike wiping out most of humanity and the planet. only the low-tech Galactica was safe.

I suggest you stop looking at snapshots and start looking at trend lines.

The original Battlestar Galactica was created a lot longer than 23 years ago.

Sure, every human to human job is a short term rental agreement but those types of jobs don't normally lead to human extinction.

Battlestar Galactica is a lot older than 23 years. Originally aired in 1978.

Also, the main idea behind the Terminator movies was written into Judas Priest song lyrics (Metal Gods) in 1980. Of course, Rob Halford was inspired to write those lyrics by even earlier scifi books.

Bottom line is we knew the dangers and were are stupidly building it anyway, as fast as we can.

To be fair, to do otherwise is futile. If we don't build it/them, somebody else will.

Has technology EVER been stopped? I'm not sure the world becoming a bunch of luddites is in the cards for us.
