Excuse me, sir. We're limiting song references to only those performed by my namesake.

I tend to agree about Donalds. He's not my congressman, so I don't know much about him. I just get this, "I want to be Governor because it's a next step up in my political career" vibe from him, as opposed to wanting to be Governor to continue making this state the best in the nation.

We're in a pickle for sure. I don't trust Donalds, especially since Trump endorsed him so early. We've really benefited from DeSantis. I hope he's been working on his tact and campaign strategy the last couple of years. We really need him on the national stage. I think he would be a good Supreme Court Justice.

DeSantis comes off as a dork. He'd be the best man for the job (president) based on what he's done in Florida, but he's got an image issue.
Rubio is much smoother and a much better orator. He's done great as SOS. He's much more likable. He's the most likable of the 3, followed by Vance.
DeSantis would crush Rubio in a debate and he is only a "dork" because a bunch of MAGA influencers kept saying it over and over and trying to say that wearing Lucchese boots (like Reagan) meant you were wearing lifts. If you don't think Fake News and propaganda goes both ways you are a sheep.
I like Rubio though and would prefer him over Vance. I also think that the wisest move for DeSantis would be not to run and instead take another job and keep his powder dry for the future when Trump has faded more from the spotlight in '32 or '36, he's still in his mid '40s and has lots of time. This cycle he could use his influence to raise money, build up favors, and play the long game.
We will see though.
As for the FL races I'm assuming it will be Donalds since he has Trump behind him and Vindeman is a sacrificial lamb for the Dems in the Senate race. GOP owns that state now more than they do in Texas with the machine DeSantis built.

James Fishback 1000% for governor for Florida. He's exactly what this state needs with DeSantis being term limited.

I dunno. He seems a little too out there for me. I don't think anyone is taking it away from Donalds, unfortunately. I think I'd prefer Collins.

Born and raised in Texas. Been out here for almost 20 years, though. Never met the man personally, (but I have great friends that I trust that know him personally) that vouch for him and his character.

I would take DeSantis over Vance in the next presidential cycle. Hopefully DeSantis didn't already blow his chances at this last election.
Rubio, DeSantis, Vance. I'm as big a RDS fan as anyone here, but Rubio has been impressive.
I don't think DeSantis blew his chance. If you subscribe to the "Trump as kingmaker and still has a chip on his shoulder for DeSantis" narrative, I guess there's that (I don't). On the other hand, I do think that maybe because of unlucky timing, his best opportunity may have passed him by.

Agreed. The fact that Donalds is apparently refusing to debate Fishback really says a lot.

It's true that Donalds has a pretty big lead in the polls. And he dwarfs all other candidates in funding and endorsements. But there just isn't much enthusiasm for him on the ground, and he sometimes is tied with "undecided" in the polls. If his opposition could coalesce around a single candidate, he probably wouldn't get the nomination.
I, for one, can be counted as an "undecided" at this point. It's pretty hard to get worked up and excited about any of the candidates, and we probably had a lot better options that decided not to run. I don't blame them, though. DeSantis will be an impossible act to follow.
