Good evening and I hope you can settle an argument for me!

Is the essay prompt for A&M the same every year? We are fighting a battle getting my son to write his essay because he said that the prompt is not current. He is an auto admit, but we still want him to put in 100% on the essay and have it in on Aug 1.

What is he majoring in? If it's Engineering intent he needs to take that app very seriously and demonstrate why he would be a good engineer as simply being accepted to A&M doesn't mean he will be accepted to Engineering.

Whatever you do, on the prompt about the most impactful person, please instruct your kids NOT to mention their parents. That POV is so overplayed and is very difficult to write an essay that doesn't sound like every other essay.

Have them choose someone that has been a positive influence on their life and has helped develop individual qualities/characteristics about themselves.

I'd include grandparents too in that advice. Have heard it called the "Grandparent Essay".

Why bother with the essay?

aggie93 answered my question already.

Our auto blew off the essay, but really wasn't considering ATM. His parents made him apply. Maybe that's why they didn't offer any scholarships.

It is for possible scholarships. He will also be entering the Corps.
