this thing is pretty cool! I've been trying to cut screen time and have looked at dumbphones and alternative phones like LightPhone over the years. Tried a Mudita Pure and a Unihertz Jelly Star, but all had pretty big flaws. The Pure could not multitask, and you had to disable some root security features in MacOS to enable tethering and the Jelly still had too many features even on its tiny screen. I want to basically have no web browser or social media, but still want to have access to online chat apps like Signal/Whatsapp/etc. and music streaming.

sidephone.com
old.reddit.com/r/sidephoneno google services or google app store, runs a modified version of the open source F-droid store. slightly less than 3 in screen, modular keypads (the ipod looking one isnt a scroll wheel unforuntately, just buttons). it has some compromises, but its in a good wheelhouse for me and what i want. Will be able to have the things i want and can easily uninstall the browser. iPhone still goes with me for work stuff, but it stays in my bag for when i need to use it and then it goes back in. First run ships in the next few weeks and im hoping it'll help me in accomplishing my goals.
