Looking for some advice on what setup would be great for my family to use to save pictures/files from computers/phones on a shared resources. Is a cloud subscription more effective than a purchased system, etc. I am not a techie and know just the basics. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Google drive shared folder or Dropbox shared folder.

Both are easy and my 91 year old mom can put documents in dropbox!

I'm in the process of partially transitioning from iCloud to a Synology NAS. It's been pretty easy so far but definitely not one click iCloud on an Apple device.

I think I can get it to where it does everything I need but definitely not for someone without ability or interest.
