Wanted to bring some light to the fires in and around Meeker, CO where I live and ask for the power of prayer from the OB. The Lee and Elk RBX fires are nothing like I have ever seen. Lee fire is up to 23,000 acres and Elk fire is to 8,500 acres with 0 containment. 3 of the 5 exit routes out of town are now closed. Lee fire was at around 100 acres Friday night and look where it is today, just simply unreal how fast it is moving. If Lee crosses Hwy 13 or Hwy 64, it will be apocalyptically bad.

I ask for prayers for our community, the firefighters and those already impacted. I have my go bag packed along with important documents in the event we get evacuated. If anyone in Steamboat or the area has a couch I can crash on, I would sure appreciate it if needed.

The fires made a run to town last night. It was the most unreal thing I have ever witnessed from Mother Nature. Lee fire came down what we call the hogback and made a run northeast to agriculture fields south of town. The firefighters put every asset possible in front of it to put it out and did so, but it was a little too close for comfort, about 2 miles from our small town. We are in stage 2 of 3 for evacuations. I left last night with everything that would fit in my trailer and truck just to be safe. This morning I have my dog at the power plant stressed as I'll get out.

Yeah, we are still in evac stage 2, so I have been staying in town to help where I can with anyone that needs it. If we can get through today, I think they will make a lot of progress over the weekend with lighter winds and temps dropping 10 degrees. I'm over in Fort Colins but holler if you need anything. Fires suck. Raining ash and destroying homes is tough to see.

I think structure count is 12. I know 2 of them so far. I have to commend these Tier 1 guys that are fighting it. They will burn every last blade of grass around a house, but the home will go untouched in most cases. It has been amazing to watch and see the use of helos watering everything down with precision.

Clear day in town as of now. Complete 180 from 48 hours ago. Flames came over that mountain in the webcam and got within 2 miles of town.
