GF and I will be staying at a bay house in Port Alto for a few days.

I'm looking for the quickest/best way to get to the Gulf by pickup.

Where is the best access point in Port O'Connor, Matagorta, ….?

Not looking to fish, We just want to put our butts in the sand, toes in the surf.

Only beach access from poc is by boat, Matagorda is closest beach access from port alto, stop at grocery store before crossing the bridge over intercoastal canal and buy beach access sticker if you want to drive on the beach but 4wd recommend if you do.
You can also park at the end of the road and walk to beach by the jetties without paying.

POC has a nice beach on the bay side, spent the last few 4ths there for fireworks. Kingfisher I think is what it's called. Unless there's an event going on this weekend, it ought to be pretty empty in town and on the beach.

Yes, but no surf. Closest gulf beaches are Matagorda, then Port A or Surfside that have drive up access.
