For serious reply, ziplock bags for cleaned birds. I bring a pump sprayer full of tap water for washing hands and cleaned birds. Cooler water works fine too.
Extra bug spray/ Off to keep chiggers and ticks away. A couple cheap brown hand towels for dove blood. A few gallon zip lock bags to put birds in the ice chest on hot days. Trash bags for breasted birds. A couple extra caps to have a dry one.
I think gear is well-covered, so I'll offer up a video that most closely resembles how I was taught to clean dove last year. It's sad to be in your 40s and find out you've been doing something wrong your entire life, but if you just want the breast of a dove (no bones), this is very similar to the way I was taught. I can breast out a limit of dove in less than 10 mins with no scissors, no gloves, and pluck no feathers. Just a quick rinse of the meat at the end. HTH someone…hopefully the link works.
Flip flops and south Texas are a bad pairing. I've done it, not preaching. I have adopted the snake boots and shorts look after a few too close for comfort encounters. If you are out there enough, it will happen. It really is'nt that much hotter if you have lightweight top gear.
Ear protection is a must. Take it from a fifty-something guy who has learned to live with the ringing in his ears. There are some really great ones on the market now-a-days.
We like the mojo flickers too. And I have graduated to an actual camo chair from a bucket, in my advanced age. I am gonna check on my birds today. Hopefully a few racers also.
