Located in the hill country. I've decided to put more effort into my yard maintenance. I've got a couple of pretty good sized bare spots in my back yard, and wondering what the best approach is to get some grass back there.

The biggest reason I want to do this is because my back yard backs up to a fairway, so tons of people see it every day. Once I can escape the evil clutches of an HOA and living on a golf course, life will be better

I realize I probably should have started working on this earlier

we're on water restrictions as well, but apparently doesn't seem to apply to the golf course. I think that's the only thing that's somewhat saved my yard since I'm right up on a fairway

Incorporate some organic matter/mulch into the soil and then put a layer ( 2-3") of mulch over it. With water and time, it should fill in naturally.
