My BIL had a heart attack today. Luckily, he was at the gym, and was given CPR.

He's my favorite BIL - we go shooting together.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Makes you realize how fragile life is. My uncle died of a heart attack at 41. Excellent shape, fit, non smoker, no family history.

Prayers to your BIL. On a side note, the EMS provider in me would like to know details of the case. Did they use an AED? Deliver Shock? Or just CPR only?

Information coming in was sketchy at best. Still don't know a lot. Sister just got back into the states; she was overseas.

1. No cpr. He had an irregular arrhythmia; paramedics used an AED (he was at a gym).
2. They had him sedated. First test showed no signs of a heart attack. Later, cardiologist said there were signs of one; don't know details.
3. They were slowly getting him off sedation. He was responding to instructions. That's all I know. Info is spotty; I'm not trying to pry; my sister has enough going on.

- no blockage.
- was caused by an irregular arrhythmia. Saw scar tissue - likely had one previously.
- is doing far better.

Thanks for all the prayers. Kind of scary - he's a year younger than me. My other BIL had one a couple of years ago.

I quit eating refined sugar after that and hardly eat any carbs - I've lost 40 pounds due to this - and feel much better.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.
