Discovered a high pitched "beeping" sound (2 times per sec) coming from behind the wall near my ensuite toilet. It comes and goes, but not audible from the rooms on the other sides of that wall...house is about 16 years old.

There's no electronics or wiring in that area, only plumbing...and to my knowledge I haven't pissed off Mossad or any Iranians.

Any ideas?

Could there be a battery-powered moisture sensor back there somewhere?

A beeping noise near an ensuite toilet is likely caused by a failing fill valve, a low battery in a sewage ejector pump alarm, or an electronic component issue. The most common cause is a faulty fill valve struggling to shut off water, often sounding like a whistle or squeal, though it can be interpreted as a "beep".

Edit to add I just googled it, I personally don't know.

Daughter bought a house that was flooded during Hurricane Harvey and was rehabbed by a flipper. After living there for a tear, they began hearing a beeping from the downstairs guest bathroom. One weekend after almost a year and probably also after a few drinks, they opened the sheetrock and found an old smoke detector the contractor had left in the wall.

I was think one had maybe fallen in the attic down into a wall, but yeah. Same source.

Could be an alarm on the water heater or ac pan if one was installed. Check the attic above that room.

Winner winner chicken dinner....

Shortly after I posted, I kept thinking that if it was in the wall, I would hear it in the other rooms which I couldn't. I popped the tank cover off and yep, that was the problem. Monkeyed with it and got it to stop. Now I can be alone with my thoughts again...
