Twins. I like to see the newborn fawns in different areas of the state to be able to back into when the rut took place the prior fall. 201 day gestation period and in our area of SE Tx, the rut is usually the last week of October, with the fawns arriving starting mid May.

That would be a great thread.

I feel like there was a very spread out rut this year in Central Texas. Will be interesting to watch this summer.

Yeah you hear all the different opinions and the occasional camp fire disagreement about when or if the rut has happened during the hunting season. I can answer that question for sure when I see newborn fawns.

We mow/ maintain a large industrial site nearby and I always try to have the first time finished each spring before mid May due to the newborns laying in the tall grass if unmowed.
