Doesn't look like owl, no solids.

Where do you live, by water?

Looks like vultures. No footprints?

Outside CS, off of Hwy 30, on some acreage. I didn't think vultures were active at night?

You see any Crowned Night Herons around? Or are you close to a creek/pond?

Yes, we have one or two that hang out on our pond. It is a little way away from where we routinely see this however

I'd wager it being a heron of sorts. I'm not expert but I have power washed enough heron crap off a boat to recognize it.

You need to change your diet. That is what I think

I was going seagull… but heron or egret would be right up there. Crapped while flying.

A great blue has attempted to strafe me late of an evening when I was fishing too closely. They usually lay down a pattern, not unlike yours. I vote heron.

Night herons move a lot more than you'd think.

I've seen one hanging out in a yard about a mile away from any water this past week. I'm guessing there's lots of insects of some sort in that yard since it is stalking something and doesnt care about my dog or me close by

That's actually thrown up, not pooped out. Their poop is white still due to urea but not nearly as watery as this is.

I have a great horned nesting nearby and we found those hair balls under the nest yesterday. I also thought it was poop. Thanks for the info. Full of tiny bones.

Ya, called an owl pellet.

You can dissect them and rebuild the small mammals they eat.
