What weather apps do y'all swear by? I live in Northwest Arkansas and can't really find any accurate ones from our local news stations. Accuweather isn't great and the standard one on the iPhone isn't either. Appreciate y'all's opinions!

I use a combination of Weatherbug and RainDrop.

Weatherbug for forcasting/radar and RainDrop for measuring rainfall.

Neither is perfect, but they generally give me what I need.

I use a combination of Radar Scope (upgraded version) and Weather Underground. I've yet to come across a general weather app that includes an adequate radar option.

Mostly weather underground

Weather Underground for general weather, hourly forecast, and days out forecast.

MyRadar for storms and lightning strikes. As a Charter Captain any lightning within about 8 miles is a full abort. So I make on the water adjustments with MyRadar's lightning tracker.

Windfinder for wind conditions.

Buoyweather for wave height, interval, swell info, etc although Windfinder has been more accurate and easier to function lately.

WeatherWise is good but it is almost too much. Lots of options. I like the "Model" radar forecast.
TexAgs: as long as we have each other, we will never run out of problems.

Since I kind of make a living with the weather, not just for roofing, I have been through many. The ones I settled on are RadarScope and EverythingWX. When I took my SkyWarn training there was a big question amongst the NWS weather nerds about who creates the data that drives many of the weather apps, including the stock weather app on iPhones and the consensus was that they really don't know. I know that the NWS meteorologists have told us in class that EverythingWX "is one of the best local forecasted apps and we cannot publicly state we helped develop it or supply the data but that may or may not be the case wink wink"

I have found it accurate. Weather underground is one I'll use if I'm on the computer.

RadarScope is nice because of the direct and derived radar products that help me determine where hail has fallen and what size. So I use a suite of products along with customer reports to verify. But for weather, like what I would use before I decide to rip off your roof and install it…..EverythingWX. I can't take chances. I also like it because it gives me the convective outlooks and severe weather rating maps direct from the NWS which seems to validate that it is an NWS based app.

Haven't seen it mentioned here but I use Storm Radar. I was about ready to get rid of it and they pushed an update recently which made it 10x better.

I've been on windfinder for wind tides and swell info for years
Space City weather guys did tests on other apps and made recommendations. From them I found storm shield that I use for radar

Yes! Wunderground has an awesome 10 day graph that shows rain chance wind and wind direction and barometric pressure and temp in a super easy to read way for my brain. For radar I use weather channel. And windfinder is great for detailed wind forecasts.

What are you loooking for? An app that will tell you temp and rain at a general level, or something that will provide info on severe weather conditions? My comments below are limited to severe weather, so ignore them if that's not what you're looking for.

I live in central AR and have found that none of the apps really focus on extreme weather. To get a forecast for that, my go-to's are, in order:

1. The national Storm Prediction Center website. Storm Prediction Center May 9, 2026 1300 UTC Day 1 Convective Outlook

2. Local Wx. They're phenomenal. You have some great ones in NW Arkansas, also. Their apps, however, are so/so for just general weather at a glance. They appear to be simply using Weather.com data. You have to watch their videos to get their analysis and predictions. Their video predictions often contradict the weather-at-a glance on their apps.

3. Believe it or not, I have found weather.com's future radar to be the best for short term (6 hour) severe weather predictions. We've had a couple of severe weather "busts" here in central AR recently and weather.com largely nailed it while the big-name weather models were still showing storms that simply didn't exist.

4. Again, for severe weather, another independent popped up this year that has proven to be surprisingly accurate. It is found at StormNet | Severe Weather Forecast + Super-Res Radar. I think it was started by "a guy" who cobbled together some hardware and AI software in his garage.

This is why I like EverythingWX. It posts those convective outlooks right on the main screen with the forecast. Those are what I use the most. If it is not sourced from the NWS, I have to take it with a grain of salt.

Do you mean AnythingWX or EverythingWX? You've referred to both which confuses me, and I'm easily confused.

Also, I don't see either app by those names exactly in the Android app store. Did you mean EverythingWeather?

Is there an app or site that shows monthly or annually actual rainfall on a map. I can find daily historical but nothing that combines it all in a monthly format.
Something like this:

Nope, I'm an idiot. It is EverythingWX. That's the app in the app store.

WeatherWise for current radar, etc
SPC for severe weather
Weather.com just to see what to wear to work the next day.

I also follow Ryan Hall and Max Velocity on YouTube. Ryan Hall's livestreams are better, but Max consistently puts out videos in the mornings most days.

Thanks for mentioning that! I use Storm Radar as well, but I don't pay for pro. Kinda felt like they were gutting any features on the free version. Looks like they added a few back.

Weather underground for forecasts and current conditions. Raindrop for precip totals after rain events. Windy for wind, it's also good for precip forecasts.
