Took the fam fishing yesterday and noticed we've got a swarm/cluster of bees located right outside our house in a tree. A little too close for comfort.

Location is roughly between Franklin and Marquez off Hwy 79 and need recommendations for a local beekeeper or removal service.

If you know a reliable person/company, could you please reply here or DM contact details. It would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

How long have they been there? I had a swarm post up next to my house up in a mesquite tree and they moved on the next day.

Give them a couple of days. Most likely a swarm on the move. As long as you leave them alone, they won't bother you. If they're still present after 4-5 days, call a beekeeper.

I'd add to keep an eye on your house soffit. My ranch house gets invaded every few years seems like.

That's what I'm concerned about - we also can't be back out for a few days and don't want to come back to a mess.

Darrin Hill used to be into beekeeping. Maybe he knows somebody out that way who can help. He posts often on the Aggieland Board.

It's likely they are resting and will move on.

If it's a swarm, it will move on. If it's a colony that has taken up residence there should be plenty of beekeepers that will come get them. Make sure they are insured and check pricing. I used to make decent money removing them in neighborhoods around where I live. Then take the that colony and install in the apiary and it was another honey producer. It's a pain in the ass though.

Steve Butler at Company Bee (on Facebook) is the man. And he lives in Franklin.
