All day Monday they do a Double Cheeseburger, fries and a drink for $8. You can't do that at Whataburger. I think they do it Wednesday evenings as well. Plus great drink specials.

no longer lunch special only after 5pm according to friends who went today
still a great deal but of all the specials they create they change them every week it seems trying to come up with the correct formula I guess

I haven't tried Poche's yet (don't care for Cajun seafood). How is the business doing? An ever-changing loss leader pricing strategy appears to be a way to attract customers and boost sales. Just curious if it is because summers are slower or if they are struggling.
If a seafood restaurant is offering cheap hamburgers then, yeah.....they're in trouble. Its a marketing move no doubt to lure in new customers or get old ones to return. I've only been twice and neither time knocked my socks off. Service and food quality was spotty along with I can't figure out if they're trying to be fine dining or casual. This town is finicky when it comes to new food establishments....miss them on the first try and they're unlikely to come back.
Yeah they're realizing this is not a seafood town, and that anything burgers/chicken fingers is the money maker.

Bubba's 33 has a great Monday burger special.
That style of restaurant does really well in Louisiana. Ive only been once and the food was a disappointment. Would like to go back but I'm not spending that much for oysters to get little dried up bits with a bunch of shell in it.
Went a few weeks ago for the first time and have been dreaming about it ever since. Burgers and fish baskets were amazing!
Went once with a gift card. That was enough.
Where do they post their weekly specials?

We had successful seafood places here in the past. Pelican's Wharf comes to mind. Shipwrecked is not bad, but it's not Truluck's or Papas Seafood House. Heck, I'd settle for a Landrys Seafood! We love seafood, but we only get it elsewhere.

I'm with you, and Pappadeauxs is my go to seafood spot. I tried Red Lobster just before they closed, and it was nasty. The amount of oil in the fish was disgusting.
Love Etouffee, blacked Catfish, and many other dishes; just can't find anyone local that doesn't do fried only.
Fishdaddy's has some non fried options that at least scratch the itch.

Any place that serves fried catfish is automatically disqualified in my book as a "seafood" restaurant.

Chef Tai is right. Fish is generally good for you. Not tilapia.
Right in that case. Wrong in many others. He looked down on Gulf fishredfish, trout, flounder, and as an avid fisherman and fan of lots of Gulf fish we had some pretty heated chats.

Good Charlie's in Magnolia is great and a pretty easy drive from here.
I have had fish twice in the last few weeks. Halibut at Marfas and Red Snapper @ Maddens. Both excellent!

This is good to know. There IS good seafood in BCS, even if it's at non-seafood restaurants (The Republic).
When Ronin was around I had excellent pompano, grouper, and red snapper.
How did Maddens cook the Red Snapper?
