For the past few months firetrucks are seen going through neighborhood. I presume coming and going to station at airport. Why the increased activity through neighborhoods and not going 2818?

Would you go 2818 if you had a nice alternative?
Maybe they're taking the most direct route.

More than likely they are county fire units going to/from the station. South Brazos has a newer fire station on Walnut Dr.

Yep, and I don't know why it would affect any homeowners? It's probably just a few times a day max?
Crews will drive thru areas to familiarize themselves with response routes & obstacles for their apparatuses along said routes.
Do you prefer they not do such activities?
Just so you know, driving a fire apparatus is not like driving your Prius. It's good to know the landscape in advance before you have to take it with life and property depending on you.

They have also hired new officers and drivers. South Brazos has primary response in that neighborhood and they are doing territory training. Streets, hydrants, access, etc...
Yeah, they opened a station on Walnut last November (the part of Walnut that doesn't become Arboleda).
Ah the new station on walnut. Makes complete sense!
