Absolutely phenomenal staff. Very very reasonable self pay rates. Had to take the smallest in for an infected wound and all the providers and staff that we interacted with were fantastic.

My only complaint, which is for pretty much all urgent cares, is they overtest then ignore the test. I cannot count the number of times I see patients who are on antibiotics for strep after a negative strep test. Or they come for follow-up for rhinovirus.

How they get away with charging $1000 for a viral panel to say a cold is a cold blows my mind. You do not need to run a viral panel to figure out a kid has a cold.

I agree with that. (Not that my kids get seen for a cold )

The NP we saw didn't suggest any labwork and told us to f/u this week with our Pedi (or bring him back if we didn't have one) if it didn't start to show improvement after 24 hours of meds. So, we might be calling Tuesday.

I went down a long trail of bread crumbs after they wanted to refer me to a specialist a few years ago. One of the more annoying things I'd ever done.

They're usually pretty good for our family, but that one experience really pissed me off. We've had good experiences with the one in century square too.

Why are you taking them for an emergency room for a cold? And then people wonder why medical prices are so high...

Ummm he isn't.

And urgent care is not the same as a free standing ER

Very fortunate to have Integrity UC in this town. They actually live up to their name IMO.

After Brazos Valley Urgent Care shut down, this place has become our go-to when needed.

Urgent care and emergency room are not the same thing. Urgent cares are often the only thing available at the times young kids seem to choose to get sick. Tell me you don't have toddlers without saying you don't have toddlers lol.

BV used to be really good but they became lazy towards the end. They completely missed a diagnosis in my oldest.

Integrity UC doesn't order the $1000 Spotfire PCR rapid test, not unless a patient is demanding it and wants to pay for it - in that case it's a send-out to another lab.

Some of the local free-standing ERs do have this test in-house though. Unfortunately, a lot of patients who went to a free-standing ER will tell you they went to an UC, cause they look similar and sometimes they never get an exhorbitant charge if their ER copay is low enough and their balance bill gets voided after the insurance pays their portion. FS-ERs to serve an imporant function and I'm very glad they exist, but this is how they keep patients coming back for colds. Meanwhile, all our insurance premiums go up year-over-year and we can't understand why.

Who in town is an Urgent Care and who is an ER?

We have used St. Joseph and Scott and White and they seem to still be urgent or "today" care. Who else?

Those are both UC. Integrity and Aggieland on Wellborn. I'm not certain of others.

Free standing ERs will say emergency room, center, services etc.

Seems like my kids always go down on the weekends and/or when we can't get a same day with the family doctor. So we used Integrity a good bit. We actually have been driving to the Hearne location because there is zero wait!

The only drawback we find is if we have a kid #1 go down with strep and then kid #2 and #3 eventually go down, we have to go back in. Had we seen the family doctor, they'd just call something in for the rest of the family. But I get it…they have to make the money!

I never went to the doctors' office at all unless I had strep or otherwise really sick, even when I was 10 or younger. I'll have to ask my mother how often that happened but it wasn't that often.

I definitely can count on my fingers how many times I've been to the doctor in the last 15 years that wasn't a physical or something related directly to that. Only oncea middle ear infection leftover from a cold (the cold part over with)did I have to go to the doctor because it just wasn't going anyway.

As far as I know only Signaturecare on Texas by campus and Physician's Premier on Boonville. But that will be changing as rumors have it the Caprock locations were purchased.
