Oushi is our go to.
40 Tempura also excellent.
Kanji is very, very good, some would say the best in town, but also the most expensive.

Those are probably the top three in town. And if anyone disagrees please speak up, and I look forward to the other contributions on this thread because we're always looking for a great sushi spot.

Now if only someone would open a Dim Sum restaurant....

Kanji, Oishi and 40 Tempura are all solid. If you want a splurge, Kanji for sure.

Sushi Masa. Maybe not the best quality like the ones mentioned but far from bad. All you can eat lunch menu is what makes it my favorite. I would go broke eating sushi at a normal restaurant. Sushi Masa costs me between $25 to $30 and as much Sushi as I like to eat at a sitting would probably cost me $50 for the same amount at a regular sushi restaurant.

I think of sushi as an occasional splurge. I worked on a fishing boat and have cleaned my share of fish. Even in the good places, caveat emptor.

My brother and I always go to Yummi Yummi. I like getting half rolls so I can get more variety.

My kids love sushi masa. And the kid pricing can't be beat. It's like their age plus $1. My six year old eats well more than $7 of sushi.

Isn't Blue Fin closed now? It was our favorite. Those guys were fun. I'm not much of sushi person but I'd have a drink and eat some there.

Does Azure still exist? I remember having very good sushi and interesting sake there with Sonny behind the bar. I haven't heard anything by anyone about the place in years. Used to be one of the few decent places open late on Sunday.

For what it's worth I have a filling lunch at 40 tempura for about 15 bucks

We like Masa because my young sons will eat like 40 pieces of salmon and tuna sashimi each, and I'm not sure I would want to pay a la carte prices elsewhere for that

If it's just my wife and me, we'll go somewhere a bit nicer.

40 has always been incredible. I think I was their second customer when they opened. Very nice family runs the place.

Appreciate this topic as Blue Fin was our go to. I don't think I've ever seen a new owner incorporate suicidal changes quite like theirs did. They clearly didn't understand anything about Japanese izakaya/food culture. It limped along as a takeout spot for a while, but we knew it was dead after they removed the alcohol service.

The manager with the previous owner was really good. He made that a very fun place to go to. Not sure why they didn't just leave it as it was. It was always crowded after 5. We'd have to get there before then to grab a table.
