I just put in a fish tank in, just under a quarter acre. Looking to start with mosquito fish. Any sources?

They actually occur naturally here in ditches and creeks. I'll ask a friend who has caught them.

My friend caught them in a sluggish creek
Or slough near a golf course in Bryan, close to the giant C&J's. I'll try to get more info. He likes collecting the weird critters theretadpoles, dragonfly nymphs and then releasing them later.
They are really tough fish and survive amazingly bad conditions. For you aquarist nerds they are close cousins to platys, guppies, mollies and swordtails.

I'm tempted to order some and toss them in some of the drainage ditches in my area. They really do live up to their name.
