Any recommendations on a honest and fair priced mechanic in spring valley / memorial area or near by?

G&S Automotive is where I take all my stuff now when I can't do the work.

Warning, the owner is grumpy as hell, but they do good work.

Bring your own parts if you can. They markup the parts way too much.

We used J&T at Westview/Campbell for years on our old cars. We've had new cars lately so haven't needed them. I don't remember them as being inexpensive (weren't overpriced either) but they did good work.

I think they sold and have gotten a little more expensive, but this is where we take our vehicles.

We really like G&S on Haddington (not Gessner), I think they're different owners. Was recently quoted $1,100 for transmission work from Firestone, G&S was able to do it for $750. They have a peaceful waiting room with wifi as well.

We've used Adam's automotive at blalock and I-10.
They have been around forever. They do good work at reasonable prices.

G&S didn't do great on my brake job. J&T have used for a long time but they've gotten really expensive (ie sometime more than dealerships). Latest
I've used and really like is Rusty's Automotive on Wilcrest. He's very busy but worth the wait IMO.

Anyone used Mistry Autocare off Kempwood/Campbell?

I've taken my car there the past few years. Very courteous and seems to do a good job

I also use G&S. AJ is the owner and he's never tried to push extra work. He's actually talked me into deferring a couple of things.

It is one owner, he'll be at one location and his wife at the other.

That's who I've used a few times. Karl and his brother are good guys

Adams is shady. I will never take my car there again. They have misdiagnosed my car twice for the same issue to the tune of $5k and don't even bother to check to see if they actually fixed the problem before telling you the car is ready. They won't give you any information over the phone if you ask for a estimate on a repair before you bring your car in. They just push and push to try and get you in the door. They are a bunch of flash and misdirection.
