This is why I always used USAA backed shops. I had reasonable confidence that USAA would make **** right if there was ever an issue. I just switched to State Farm and hope they have a similar program.

Nope. They sent us ro a collision place that was incredibly crooked. They botched the job and told usaa that we must have hit something else, usaa made us file a second claim.

Additionally, the guy tried to convince me that if I didnt find the original wheel lock, he was going to have to charge me 700 per wheel to be able to do a repair. Snake.

Excuse me...did you say $700 per wheel for them to use a key they already have?

The wheel lock was lost or left at a tire shop or whatever. We ended up expediting one from the manufacturer for $45. But yes, he said he'd have to laser cut them off and charge $700 per wheel. I even said that I didn't believe that there wasn't a single better solution on the planet than that and he insisted. Absolute crook.

Which shop? I had some minor issues with caliber (which is one of their network shops) after hail damage that they were trying to hassle me on but then I pulled USAA in. They sent me to another shop and charged caliber for the repair.

I picked up the vehicle on Feb 13 and was provided a final bill. Tried to pay with a credit card and owner said no don't pay with a card they charge 3% and was told to bring a check at another time. They released the vehicle to me. The quality of work was extremely low and calibration scan reports were not provided and denied. No communication from Katy Collision center, I withheld payment and made them aware I was doing so as I served them a DTPA. DTPA was received on March 2 at 1:13 and at 2:06 Darryl calls screaming cussing and demanding payment and still will not proved me what I am requesting. On March 4 at 10:07am my vehicle was towed from my work which is a public high school. The was no lien placed in Harris County on the vehicle, No notice to school district personal or ISD police department to come on property and tow and and no contacting law enforcement stating a tow had been executed and they have my vehicle. That day I sent Katy Collision Center a demand letter to release my vehicle back to me. I showed up the next morning with a Harris County Sheriff demanding my vehicle and agreed to pay under protest, was given a total and they requested a cashiers check. I walked across the street and got a check, the officer left and when I came back they refused my payment and and said they are creating a supplemental and now saying they want $8000 more and are holding my vehicle. Again they released possession to me, did not file a lien and then came and stole my vehicle. They will not give me what I'm asking for and have told me "This is my business I can do whatever I want" and not providing me requested documents saying "I'm not giving you that, subpoena me if you want it". The tow truck company appears to be owned by the same owner of the repair shop.
I am going this morning to file a tow hearing but I know this is going to be a drawn out process and the frustration is insurmountable
I have everything documented, have time line, call records, body cam video of interaction on property as well as police body cam. Just need some guidance outside of chat GPT on how to go after these crooks.
