Anyone know what's going on along the west loop near Memorial Park? Lots of smoke on my commute home yesterday and even worse this morning. Jacked up my drive to work.

Perused a few news websites and couldn't find anything.

Coming home from work yesterday, it almost looked like something was burning in the bayou along Woodway, just outside of 610. Saw several big work trucks parked along the upper bank. Once I rolled down the windows and could smell the smoke I also concluded that it was likely a controlled burn...my only question, is why right there? Maybe there was a ton of dead debris that could bea liability in the summertime if we hit a drought?

Clearing debris with a controlled burn was my thought as well. Drove through the Sam Houston National Forest last weekend near Montgomery and they've cleared a lot of brush underneath the trees up there.
