Anybody have one or experience with one? Wasn't looking for that particular motor but found the exact trim/package with the HO powerstroke. Haven't really heard anything negative other than they drink DEF. Any opinions on the all knowing TexAgs automotive board?

The two I know that have it regret it due to the def issue. I wouldn't do it unless you plan to delete.

My Dad has the non HO version. The torque eats tires. He needs tires for a second time at 34K miles.

Have an F450 with the HO. It's an incredible engine. Don't have a DEF issue, doesn't drink anymore than any other Ford/GMC that I've owned unless I'm towing. Would recommend it.

I have a 2024 F250 with the HO engine. It does seem to use a lot more DEF when towing, but I haven't noticed it using more on regular drives. Side note: I drove to Plainview and back (600 miles) last weekend and it averaged 20mpg with the cruise set on 80.

I had this same question before I bought my 2025 and a couple of people who bought the HO told me they have never needed the extra horses or torque. I believe them as my basic 6.7 is incredibly strong. I can't imagine hauling anything rated for the truck and wanting more power.

Supposedly the new diesels coming out soon will be much more powerful, which is crazy.

Have a '24 tremor with the HO and before that had a '21 tremor with the regular 6.7, haven't really noticed a significant difference in DEF usage.
