What's sad is that the credit is not automatic. You have to log in to your account and claim it.

Which took all of about 3 clicks and less than a minute of my time...

Agree but I think the issue is people who maybe miss the email or don't know about it (think those 65 and beyond maybe). How many people like that? Probably not many. But easiest would have been a flat credit for all since all YTTV subscribers impacted. They chose to make you click to save $$

LOL! I'm 71 and had no problem at all, clicked the link in the email I got, one more click and it was done. Was very easy to check my account to confirm the refund had been applied. Us 65 and an older folks have been reading well over 60 years, so if you can read and follow directions p, you can confirm your refund.

About 25% of folks don't watch sports, so losing ESPN is moot. Only about 20% are avid college football fans. Why give everyone a credit automatically?

To redeem your credit, please go to the 'Updates' tab in Membership Settings using your web browser, and follow the prompts. Once complete, this discount will be applied to your next bill for YouTube TV.

Because they are paying for channels they are not able to get.

"get' is irrelevant. Those consumers pay those carriages fees and don't "get" the channels right now because they don't consume that content! They have probably ignored the whole thing from the get-go. Yet YTTV is still offering them a rebate - for something they never consume - if they take action.
We all pay for many channels we don't watch.

My comment was not about ability...its the fact that not everyone past 65 is posting daily on an internet forum like you and others on here and therefore maybe also not checking emails daily...
My parents are 70+ and almost never get online. I called them to let them know and they got the credit but I do not know for sure if they would have actively looked for an email or logged into their account to just see if by chance a credit was waiting for them...and they do enjoy ESPN / college sports so they have been impacted by this.
