It's 2 possessions but you still need a TD. 1st and 10 from the 20 you don't kick a FG.

you kick the field goal before the 2 minute warning. That way you stop the clock 3 times with only 2 timeouts left. you wouldn't have to go for an on-sides kick that way.

No, not automatic for their kicker. Not sure why everyone assumes college kickers make everything.

your chances of kicking the field goal is higher than getting an on-sides kick which they failed doing.

You still have to factor in odds of getting a TD.

Awww....moot now

they got the td by blowing the 2 minute timeout. so, they could only stop the clock 2 times. And that forces an onsides kick. Kicking a field goal has better odds than an on-sides kick.

Wouldn't they still have 30 seconds left with what they did even with an onside kick, if they could have stopped them? And they only needed a FG to tie?

Otherwise they would have had a little over a minute but need a TD. Or is my math wrong?
if they kick the field goal before the 2 minute timeout, ou gets the ball. After ou snaps the ball, there is the 2 minute timeout. Then tenn can stop the clock two more times. Tenn would get the ball back with about 1 minute left.

By getting the td, tenn is forced to cover the onsides kick. the whole game comes down to 1 play.

I didn't realize BYU was headed to Lubbock next weekend. Goodness. They're in for a culture shock.

Oklahoma pulled off a 33-27 road win at Tennessee to bounce back from a disappointing 34-26 home loss to Ole Miss and improve to 7-2 (3-2 SEC). Oklahoma kept their playoff hopes alive and knocked Tennessee out of the playoff contention. Tennessee loses 2+ home games in a single season for the first time since 2021, and Oklahoma became the first team other than Georgia to win at Knoxville since Ole Miss's 31-26 road win over Tennessee on 10/16/2021.

Is this one of ESPN's sort of charity type weeks for smaller, irrelevant leagues? Kinda like when they go to Fargo?

Hope the GameDay folks are smart. On the other hand, maybe it will prompt ABC News to create an expose on Raider Rash.

Also KC Chiefs are on bye week. Opens up TT alum Patrick Mahomes as guest picker

Plus not exactly "charity" when tech is in the top 15 and BYU is #10

Tonight, Auburn fans are calling for the immediate firing of Hugh Freeze. In losing to Kentucky this evening, they scored a grand total of 3 points. They're 1-5 in SEC games for the second consecutive year, and this year's one win was Arkansas.

And that one win was completely gifted to them by Arkansas. Razorback's last 4 possessions were pick 6, fumble, interception, interception.

I watched both the Oklahoma vs Tennessee game on my TV and the World Series Game 7 on Sling on my laptop until the postgame interview. After the postgame interview, I switched my TV to Fox.

It's crazy how Mississippi State and Kentucky both snapped 10+ game SEC losing streaks by winning road games against Arkansas and Auburn respectively. As a result, Arkansas remains the only SEC team who is winless in conference play.

Mississippi State rallied from a 35-21 deficit with 13:43 left to defeat Arkansas 38-35 to snap a 16-game SEC losing streak for their first SEC win since a 7-3 road win at Arkansas on 10/21/2023, 742 days or 106 weeks ago. As a result, Arkansas has lost 8 consecutive SEC games, dating back to a 63-31 home loss to Ole Miss on 11/2/2024.

Kentucky stunned Auburn 10-3 to snap a 10-game SEC losing streak for their first SEC win since a 20-17 road win at Ole Miss on 9/28/2024, 399 days or 57 weeks ago. Also, Kentucky snapped a 4-game losing streak by beating Auburn for the first time since a 21-14 road win on 10/17/2009.

With all of the loses yesterday it could be a top-10 matchup, will see here in an hour when the polls come out.

I get it. It was just a joke.

But I don't put a lot of weight to their rankings. Just look at their schedules. I'm not convinced either would be ranked if they were playing a schedule in the SEC or B10.
