And if 5.4, have the plugs been changed?

I've only seen this truck in person a few times. However, I know the owners quite well. Quality people.

5.4

I have not changed them but I got the truck at 85k miles so it's possible they were changed before.

Beautiful truck.

The reason we asked about the plugs is its a given some or all with break off when trying to extract.

I took my 05 Expedition 5.4 to a local mechanic shop due to the horror stories of trying to change these plugs.

The pro broke off 7 of the 8 and it cost about 700 for the job.

Look on the internet and there are some suggestions for how one might be able to extract.

Seafoam the hell out of it, work on it when the engine is hot, blast it with impact, etc.

I think the mechanic who worked on mine either didn't know about these tricks or just wanted the job done quickly.

Yep. Lisle makes a tool for extracting the plug remnants should they break. I had a 2005 with the 5.4 and just bit the bullet and took it to the dealer. Cost ~400 back in the day. Truck had about 70,000 miles. They used the impact method and didn't break any plugs.

No stickers, no manual wheel hubs - gotta be a 4x2 at that age.

I had an almost identical 07. Miss that truck. This is peak Ford truck to me and my upbringing. GLWS!
