I've got about 10 registered longhorns that should be dropping calves over the next month or two. Located in Hempstead. Looking to sell them at $1800 as bred, or $2200 as pairs. I'll get some more current pics posted soon. Contact me for info on genetics. User name at yahoo, or text 281-three three o - o two two nine.

They don't eat well. Breed not really good for meat. Their milk makes some good cheese.

The bull in the 3rd from the bottom picture definitely has TexasRanger JP bloodlines

How old are the cows and bull? Sending to a cousin needing to stock his Mason county ranch.

Most of the cows are 3-4 years old, and about to drop their second calf. The bull is 3 years old.

Man, I don't follow the market that close, but that sounds like glue factory salvage pricing

We sold a longhorn crossed with angus last year. Neighbor has one as yard art. The calf sold for about $80. Ugliest thing you ever saw, but it was better than the bull tearing up fence.

It's cheaper than I'd like to sell, but I'm trying to free up some pasture for my angus and gerts.

My neighbor does longhorns. The ground beef is nice and lean. They are entertaining. They're actually some of the most silent cattle I've been around. It's been dry so there's already concern about pasture growth and hay vs beef prices.

In my experience, longhorns are very docile and low maintenance. They are easily the friendliest of the breeds I have. They get the most attention, so I'm sure that's why. We also love the ground beef. Extremely lean, 96/4, excellent for things like chili, spaghetti sauce, tacos.
