I have a livestock barn that is not being used and full of fantastic dimensional members 2x4x8', 2x8x8' and 2x10x10'. I'm at that point where I have to either A.) put money into the barn to keep it standing and put it to use or B.) harvest and sell the lumber. Does anyone have any experience or idea on how to supply retail lumber yards with reclaimed products? If I had to guess, I have about 2,000 sf or 1,200 board feet (rough estimate).

I would post this on the Outdoors board...I'd bet you'll get some good suggestions there.

There is a place in NW Houston called old world lumber I believe that specializes in this stuff.

A friend of a friend was talking about this a while back and their research led them to you basically had to pay someone to come take it apart and harvest the lumber and hope you got enough value from the wood to offset that cost. This was an older person who didnt have the resources to demo themselves so that may come in to play

That won't be an issue. Work shift work with days available to complete. Also have trailer, will travel.

hey OP, I am going to need to make some floating shelves soon and I would love to use some reclaimed wood for them.m Only need something like 4 ~32" inch 2x8s. Is that something you could support?
