I posted on another thread where someone is looking for a lease. Cost is $915.85 plus $300 if you bring a travel trailer (timber company charge, not mine). Had an interesting development come up. A member of my San Augustine lease saw my post on another forum and is interested in swapping leases to be a little closer to home. So it is possible that the opening might end up being in San Augustine. Cost is about the same but it is a bigger lease and you can set up two spots.

This is interesting to me. Family welcome? How many on the lease? What kind of environment? We are about 2 hours away so could be good for us. Don't really care about massive deer, just want to give my oldest the chance to shoot a buck and middle chance to shoot a doe.

Also what kind of amenities are there for staying the night? Trailer hookups? I also wouldn't mind just camping either.

Need to update...had a member of my lease at San Augustine heard of this opening and wanted to swap leases since he lives just outside of Nacogdoches. So I now have a lease opening at San Augustine. I currently have a list of interested folks that I am working my way thru. This lease is roughly 860 acres- no specific camp area but an old camp area is available to park a camper but no water or electricity. Each member gets to set up two hunting spots, year round lease, and guests are welcome. This is private property (not a timber company lease) but property is used to grow timber. I will keep this updated until it is filled.

That area is a hidden gem in East Texas and has some great deer. You will have access to Rayburn and lots of national forest available to roam - trail between the lakes is a great hiking spot.

Still trying to get this filled- going thru the list of folks that have contacted me. I am fascinated by folks that are looking for a lease spot, are interested when the opening was in Nacogdoches county but not interested when it is 30 miles further east at San Augustine without even going to look it over. If I could get folks to respond back to me I could get thru the list a lot faster. I have responded back to all that have contacted me I think.

I know i'm way late to this thread, but I'm interested too in case something else opens up.

Went thru a bunch of texags members that were apparently only interested in kicking the tires- folks turning it down without even going to check it out. Got the spot filled last Sunday thru Texasbowhunter.com. Not sure if I am going to waste my time here next year when I most likely will have one or two spots open up on one or more of my leases.

I shared your post with several people, no idea if they ever contacted you or not. You might consider posting a few more details next year and you might get less tire kickers.
