So, my father's best friend was a medical guy and had some money, more than my dad who lived on mashed potato sandwiches for a good while, so had a subscription to playboy from late 1965 and kept it through to late 1970. They were over there for some of the bad stuff. Anyway, I've had these damn things in a box since my dad died, the same box he's had them in since around 1972 when the moved back from being stationed in Alaska. Long story short, I know there are some sports cards and collectible guys on here. Any value to any of these. I'm putting them in a new box and gonna move them with us just because, unless they might be worth more than the $.75 cover price. Can't comment on how the were "handled" previously to 1972, but know they hadn't been touched since.

How many of the pages are stuck together?

an appraiser friend said a few of them might be worth 5-6 each to collectors in great shape and maybe the March 1968 in great shape could push 20-25. He said anything pre 60's and any edition after that where a celebrity appeared were more 25-50 or slightly higher range depending on celebrity and condition.

Good info, thanks. Not sure if great shape but 80% are in very good shape. Collectors opinion may be "good" or "fair". Looks like one end of the box got some moisture at some point so about ten of them have some crusty bottoms. Never really paid any attention to them and should have brought them into better conditions a long time ago. I'll post pics if allowed. Here is the list of months and years. Some weren't in order stacked into the box.

I'm gonna check out March of 68 and see why that one is special. May be gone awhile.

I was born in June of 70, seems like that'd be a cool thing to have if you're selling individual magazines.

To be serious though. This is super interesting I almost guarantee there's some collector out there that would certainly pay for these. I agree check Ebay first. Maybe a pawn shop type place that sells comics/collectibles?

Helotes, found the June of 1970 and it's yours if you want it. Unfortunately it was one on the end of the box that soaked up a spill of something at some point so is a bit crispy on the bottom off the pages. They all opened though and none stuck together. I will tell you the ads are far, far more entertaining to look at than the models. Photo of the damage. Could not take a pic of the cover cause it's got nips.

Had this exact same situation when my grandpa passed away. I was in charge of selling them because I was good with eBay.

Best thing to do is just sell complete years if you can or bundle them together. Selling individually will kill your soul and you might make $1 or $2 after fees and everything. Most issues aren't worth much because nobody ever threw them away so they aren't particularly rare.

I don't think I'm gonna mess with selling them. Probably just put them up again and maybe use the centerfolds for wallpaper. My barber shop from when I was a kid had the entire bathroom wallpapered with centerfolds. It was awesome.

Then they all got ripped down. Sad day. Some of my faves were up there.

I really do want a couple of them just because it'd be cool to have. But I also don't wanna deal with explaining to my wife why I have random issues of Playboy coming in the mail
