Yes, the Rangers staff has historically injured guys that need to stay healthy, but in today's game, whose staff stays healthy? The most impressive thing about our last two seasons has been continued success despite losing starter after starter to season-ending injuries. Yes, the win total has slid, but not as far as it could have without being able to plug in other starters.
We lost Bregs and Tucker, but for all intents and purposes, they were one player last season, with Tucker hot early while Bregman was trash, and Bregman heating up during Tucker's prolonged absence. It's not like they were two main cogs carrying the offense all season. And don't forget the black hole at first we had to begin the season.
I don't expect anyone to run away with the division. It should be a three-team race for much of the year, unless someone takes an early nosedive, but as we showed last season, you can recover if no one else really distances themselves.
The easy take for a national writer is to see the losses and base their Astros predictions on those. I mean, the Braves kind of snuck into a WS win in 2021 after winning just 88 games, then lost their best offensive player and turned around and won 101 games the next season. Offensive production can be replaced, and I think the guys we added do that. I expect an overall team offense that's better than last season with more guys contributing and driving in runs, and less guys sucking life out of it.

My screaming hot take of the offseason - the Oakland As finish 2nd in the division. They win around 85 games. Mariners in the low 80s, Rangers close to or just below .500.

I've used family members' logins (before providers started cracking down on sharing).
Season before last, I hit on a Fubo 3-month free offer and then just paid for the other months.
Last season, I picked up a Fubo subscription over the summer months when I had more time to watch games. I'll probably do the same this season, but sucks that they all keep going up in price.

Orbit is going to shoot them into the stands with the t-shirt cannon after the 7th inning stretch. Would be a cool keepsake.

Our rotation is the high-end arms at the top and depth thru the middle and back end. Its not SEA (home field over rates them) or LAD, but this not too far off.

Correct. Released in June.
I'm somewhat surprised, but it doesn't look like he's playing for anyone right now.

I think the As make the WC. Billy Beane can cycle a team from bad to good and good to bad like no other.
Meh. I said that 2 days ago in my predictions. Gotta keep up man.Farmer1906 said:

Suppose they sold today. Who has to pay that deferred salary? The new owner. So that unpaid salary is pure debt.
The Dodgers at $6.8B is crazy. Forget the salary of current players. They have something like $1.2B in deferred salaries they aren't even paying. That's a ton of debt.EastCoastAgNc said:The Yankees reign supreme atop @Forbes' most valuable MLB franchises of 2025 💰 pic.twitter.com/4N3EAbP07m

To the Dodgers realize every time they lose a playoff series from now on, every smartass is going to make a quip about them "deferring a World Series title to next year:?
11:58a, 3/26/25
Reminder: The Astros won at a 97-win clip with a +95 run differential from June 1 thru the postseason last year.

Comparing the two franchises since 2017
Astros
- 2x WS Champions
- 4x AL Pennant
- 7x division champions
- 7x ALCS participant
Dodgers
- 2x WS Champions
- 4x NL Pennant
- 7x division champions
- 5x NLCS participant (they did make the NLCS in 2016 if you want to expand it by a year to make it 6x participant)
I'd say that is insanely even.

Yeah, the marker sniffers at ESPN think if they keep broadcasting our downfall it's bound to come true eventually.
