This should ignite a total teardown. At minimum, Espada and the hitting coaches are gone. Roster needs to be gutted with an eye for getting as much future value as possible.

We'd probably have to give away prospects to get someone to take Altuve, Walker, or McCullers' contracts. We'd also be selling low on Alvarez given his recent injury history.

HB and Pena would be valuable. Ideally we'd get players back that might be as good as HB and Pena if fortune favors us.

He'll get coached up over the off season to suck as bad as the vets if we retain Cintron and Snitker for some inexplicable reason,

Altuve and Correa are tied for 3rd in GiDPs with 19 each. That's an unpleasant stat that's unlikely to fare much better in later seasons.

He's lost 50 points on his BA, 40 on his OBA and 75 on his SLG.

I can't imagine who tinkered with his swing.

Its back was against the wall the last two games. They are literally outside the playoffs. It didn't matter.

They had their backs to the wall, turned to face the wall, then dropped trou and bent over. They are done. There is no fight in this team. Might as well sit the vets down and let the AAA guys play to get some experience for next year. They played better in June than the vets have all year anyway. If we want a chance to win 5 of the next 6, we ought to be playing the lineup we had in June, because the current one we have sucks.

Why would you expect us to do anything? The Mariners have been plunking our best hitters repeatedly for years and we never do anything about it. They plunked Pena multiple times in one game earlier this season and we did absolutely nothing about it.
